For me, the Bach harpsichord Toccatas are highly dramatic, Buxtehude-style, and should be played with lots of flair, light and shade. Ahlgrimm fits this demand perfectly - I cannot imagine these works more dramatically performed! Her style is enough in itself, the pedals just add to the effect! Music samples at www.baroquecds.com
