Recording: Exceptional
Performance: Outstanding

Another gem from ProPiano Records. Michel Block is a superlative pianist: his playing is masterful, displaying subtle emotion balanced with mature control. Everything about his performance is beautiful.

There is only one Bach selection on this cd, a transcription of a movement from a solo violin sonata. It is worth owning the whole cd for this piece, it is lovely. Bach seems ideally suited to transcription and hearing familiar pieces in the context of another instrument makes it sound new. Although Bach wrote a huge repertoire of keyboard music, I am delighted to hear these little additions of other works to savor and enjoy.

You will not be disappointed by the rest of the cd, far from it. The selections are beautiful and Michel Block's performance is gorgeous.
