A wonderful cd. Performances on baroque oboe of some Bach sonatas written for other solo instruments. The sound of the baroque oboe is not as refined as the modern instrument we're used to, but the sound it still excellent. The playing is outstanding, I particularly enjoyed the use of the harpsichord buff stop for the Siciliano of Flute Sonata BWV 1031. The combination with the sensitive oboe playing is delightful.
Virtuoso performances of beautiful works; highly recommended. |
