Performance: Exquisite
Recording: Astonishing

(This is the single cd re-release of the cd from the 4-cd Switched-on Boxed Set.)

In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful recordings ever made. Wendy Carlos took the concept of Switched-On Bach and extended it several important steps both technically and musically. The Moog synthesizer used on this recording was the most advanced of its time, customized even beyond what was available to the general public. Wendy Carlos' genius as an engineer worked hand-in-hand with her extraordinary musicianship and produced this masterpiece. A lot of people have been waiting for the release of this cd and the wait it over. It sounds as incredible now as it did back in 1969. With the original cover art and extensive liner notes, it's a wonderful reproduction of the original.
