I found these recordings to be very straightforward interpretations. No excessive affectations or mannerisms, and with a very clear recording. I enjoy them immensely. If you prefer Bach recordings on piano, these are unlikely to disappoint.

An absolutely brilliant recording of Bach's "Opus 1" (the Partitas) which were, wrote Bach, "offered to music lovers in order to refresh their spirits". While my preference has always been to listen to Bach's keyboard works performed on the harpsichord, Hewitt's Bach series has opened my ears to piano performances.
The sound on this disc, as with her other Bach recordings on Hyperion, is outstanding. I've heard other recordings on piano and have been dissapointed, but not with Hewitt. Her technique is superb, bringing these often playful pieces to life on the piano and the recorded sound is perfect. Definately Recommended!
