A budget priced 2-CD reissue of cantatas for solo soprano. Nancy Argenta sings beautifully, pure and radiant but with drama when required, and she doesn't have the edginess other "bell" sopranos are prone to. Included is the version of "Ich habe genug" which Bach re-arranged in a higher key for Soprano/Tenor voice, possibly because his wife Anna Magdelena loved the central slow lullaby aria so much. This is exquisitely sung with a heart-felt tenderness. My only quibble with this issue is the absence of any texts, otherwise it is an exceptional buy. | | Acknowledgements: | Thank you to the following for submitting this recording and for your comments: | | Date First Submitted: | 09/01/2000 | | Purchasing: | Suggested Purchasing Sources
