His playing is very clear and even the most difficult works sound effortless. The tempos are sometimes slow, making the counterpoint more accessible. The recorded sound is extraordinary; the harpsichord is recorded closely making it an intimate and pleasant recording. Of all the recordings of The Well-Tempered Clavier I own, this is my favorite.
