A very impressive recording of some of Bach's greatest works.

Review by Jan Hanford:

An extraordinary recording. Murray Perahia's performance is light as a feather. An expressive interpretation with a lively bounce and clear articulation. The string orchestra sounds warm and rich, surpassing what I usually expect from St. Martin in the Fields. Perahia and this orchestra seem made for eachother. The slow movements are an emotional experience, found so often in Bach's music, and are presented here with beautifully sensitive phrasing. It's magical.

These are some of Bach's most beautiful concertos. They exist in several other forms: concertos for oboe or violin. Perahia gives these well-known melodies new life and leads the orchestra to create the must joyous version of these concertos I've heard to date. I don't always listen to new cd's more than once in a day but I played this one 3 times in one afternoon. My highest recommendation.
