This is not a typical CD that can be found Michala has decided to play two pieces here on the recorder rather than the specified transverse flute, One may question the authenticity of such a chioce of instrumentation. However this CD is less about the music but mainly focusses on the totally spell binding virtuosity of such an artist. Michala never ceases to amaze me with her brethtaking quality of articulation, coordination, breath control and superb phrasing. A really super-natural performance! Though being an a=440 performance, The Berliner Barock Solisten perform in a very authentic style and create a firm foundation for Michala's acrobatics! Descant recorder is used for the majority of the suite, where as in the concerto Michala alternates between treble and tenor recorders. A truly worth while CD.
