Although not as "complete" as the later recording with Trevor Pinnock on CBS, this was my first experience with the flute sonatas and with Rampal. However, it does include BWV 1039, which is not included on the set with Pinnock.

It isn't just nostalgia that makes this recording beautiful for me; it is truly exquisite. The early appearance of Jordi Savall on viola da gamba makes this an extraordinary recording. Highly recommended.
