I have no idea how this little tape found its way into my cassette deck (I didn't even know I had it), but it hasn't left since. The Staier fellow is really something. He has a rich, full tone, near-flawless technique, and exhibits some of the best harpsichord playing I've ever heard. Although I would pick Rousset over him in terms of sheer musicianship, the Chromatic Fantasy on this recording is among the best ever. Good... very, very good.
