Very elegant playing. Sutherland studied for a time under Rosalyn Tureck, and his approach is similar to hers. I don't know the last date she recorded the Goldberg, but Sutherland has the advantage of better technology at a minimum. I own the Tureck and the Glenn Gould versions as well (transfer to CD); I find I listen to this version most. |
