Comments:Wonderful, lyrical playing in an extremely inexpensive disk (the Vienna Master Series). Tomsic was little known in the US until several years ago, although she had studied here. The first disk of her's released here (same label and series) was of Scarlatti sonatas. That colletion is truly extraordinary. With regard to the Bach, her Partita no. 1 is up there with the best of them, although perhaps not quite so evocative as either Lipatti's studio recording or especially the live performance at his final concert in Besancon.
