No annoying transverse flutes, even tempo, even temper. I tend to compare all other Brandenburgs against this recording. This was my first Bach CD, for a while it was my only Bach CD and for a brief while it was enough. The only criticism that I have of this CD is that it lacks the fifth and sixth Brandenburgs. The price for this CD is so low that almost anyone could give it a chance.

I bought this disc at Sam's Club (US wholesale discount warehouse) as part of a super-budget 5-disc box set called Bach: Meisterwerke for $13! Despite the misleadingly low price, these are outstanding recordings. Laserlight has also repackaged the disc since the above comments were made, since my disc also has Concerto Nr. 6 on it. Nr. 5 is included on the second disc in the box, along with the first two Orchestral Suites. An absolute can't-pass-it-up value with wonderful sound.
